Landscaping PositionResponsible for the cultivation and care of the landscaping and grounds surrounding a business or building. Plants flowers, mows, pulls weeds, repairs structures, and maintains outside of building. Primary Responsibilities: Perform groundskeeping and building maintenance duties. Mow lawn either by hand or using a riding lawnmower. Cut lawn using hand, power or riding mower and trim and edge around walks, flower beds, and walls. Landscape by planting flowers, grass, shrubs, and bushes. Apply pesticide to rid grounds of pests such as mosquitos, wasps, ticks, and others. Apply fertilizer to ground to enhance growth. Shovel snow from walkways and sprinkle ice down to keep people from falling. Perform routine maintenance duties such as applying plaster, fixing fountains, and other duties. Sweep walkway of debris. Cut down tree limbs that are posing a danger. Trim shrubs and pull weeds. Perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in groundskeeping. Install lawn furniture. Rake, mulch, and prune the grounds as needed. Install rock, cement, lighting, water, and furniture. Water plants and grass as needed and apply fertilizer.

Hardscaping PositionThe hardscape team leader is an experienced employee in construction, basic electricity, basic plumbing, and works with minimal supervision. This position directs the activities of a team of two or more in the construction of paver patios, retaining walls, garden ponds, and low-voltage lighting. Primary Responsibilities: Installs paver patios; stone, wood, or segmental block retaining walls. Installs garden ponds. Installs low-voltage landscape lighting. Reads landscape design prints and implements the landscape construction plan. Understands elevations and uses this knowledge to execute the construction plan. Operates, proficiently, a variety of mechanical equipment, including bobcats, back hoes, dingos, plate compactors, stone grinders, drills, gas and electric chop saws, demolition hammers, and jack hammers. Operates automatic and stick shift vehicles, such as dump trucks and truck and trailer combinations. Routinely interacts with clients by way of introductions at the beginning of a job, answering questions, responding to client’s requests, making reasonable changes to the plan, and providing a walk-through at the job’s completion. Completes the necessary paperwork including timesheets, work orders, change orders, material requisitions, and client tickets. Plans and organizes the job, ensuring that sufficient resources and materials are available. Also ensures that job is completed in the most time-efficient manner. Manages a team of two or more employees, including handling personnel issues on site and training employees on policies and procedures.

Irrigation PositionPerforms installation, maintenance and repair of irrigation systems. Primary Responsibilities: Operates power equipment and hand tools to install, maintain and repair irrigation systems and related components including irrigation lines, sprinkler heads, control panels, valves, pumps, etc. Checks system for proper operation and timing. May participate in the design or modification of new or existing systems. Performs seasonal maintenance such as system charging and draining. Maintains inventory of related parts and supplies. May lead workers on irrigation projects and work on other grounds related assignments as needed. Knowledge of tools, equipment, techniques, skills, materials, and methods of irrigation system design, installation and maintenance. Ability to read blueprints, schematics and drawings. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to operate equipment such as trenching machines and digging tools and other related grounds/landscape equipment. Ability to read and write in English and possess good math skills. Ability to lead and direct the work of others. Ability to work in safe and efficient manner.

Snow Plow PositionMust be able to work in all weather conditions, long days and in a team setting. The right individual will have the experience and skills to run all types of commercial equipment such as skid steers and snow plows servicing commercial, retail and apartment sites in and around Central Ohio. Primary Responsibilities: Must be available to work weekends, overnights & holidays during snow storms. Must have reliable transportation to sites Must be able to work long shifts in extreme weather conditions. Ability to lift 50lb bags of salt for spreading Ability to shovel snow in extreme weather Must have a valid license for operating snow plow vehicles.
